The History

The New Hope Church Centre was built in 2001 on the site of St Paul's Church in Reading. The Centre was built to provide a resource to the local community as well as a home for a Church within the community.

The Centre was built by the New Hope Charitable Trust, and is now leased by Greyfriars Church and run by New Hope Community Church.

The Centre is run by a number of volunteers from New Hope and Greyfriars  Churches, in addition to the part time staff who work in the building.

Hiring the Centre

The New Hope Centre has a number of rooms and facilities available for hire.

We have two main meeting rooms (one on the Ground floor and one on the First floor). Both of these rooms can comfortably seat 80 people and are served by kitchens and toilet facilities.

Both the Ground and the First floor are air conditioned for your comfort. We can also provide tables, chairs, overhead projector and flipcharts on request. The First floor also has a fully functioning PA and hearing aid loop system (available on request for an additional fee and subject to availability).

The kitchens are modern and well equipped. The facilities include microwave, fridge, kettles, urns, crockery and cutlery. The Ground floor kitchen has a dishwasher and freezer, while the First floor kitchen has a 6 ring hob and oven.

The Second floor has two rooms that could comfortably seat up to 20 people each as well as kitchen and toliet facilities.

The Second floor is also the home of the New Hope Centre Offices.

The First floor and Second floor are accessible by lift and we have disabled toilet facilities on the Ground floor.

Car Parking - For bookings in the evening, at weekends and during the school holidays we are able to offer the use of a car park opposite the centre. For other bookings there is limited on street parking on Newport Road, Addison Road (restrictions apply) and Meadow Road and Milford Road. There are also large public car parks on Richfield Avenue. The centre is within easy walking distance of Reading Town Centre and Reading Railway station. There are also good bus links along Caversham Road.
